As Iron
Sharpens Iron, So One Man Sharpens Another. Proverbs 27:17
Day-in and day-out, nights and weekends, you are
out there tirelessly serving the citizens of your community so
they can go about their lives in
peace. Because you do
your job so well, many people don’t even know how radically
different their lives would be if you just went home.
As a result they don’t always show you the respect and
gratitude you deserve.
Furthermore, they don’t understand the challenges
associated with serving as society’s shield of protection.
Because you serve in a position of authority, there are
many forces and powers that wish to control and even destroy
you.
As you know, many of your co-workers suffer under
these attacks. Their personal and professional lives are falling
into crisis. Many
Officers are struggling with depression and loneliness. The Law
Enforcement profession is among the highest in divorce, alcohol
and drug abuse, and sadly, suicide.
Many Officers are
personally, professionally, and spiritually bankrupt.
The Apostle Paul says in Romans 13 that God has
established governmental authorities to maintain order and
justice. As agents of the government, we believe that you are
really an agent of God. You have been ordained by God to serve
and protect the community and bring those who rebel to justice.
Because of your unique calling, we believe you need a unique
ministry.
For that Reason, Shields of Faith Ministries was
founded and a ministry program designed specifically for you and
your fellow Officers was created.
We started by conducting a survey of some fellow
Officers to discover what kind of ministry was needed.
Their responses laid the
foundation for our program.

2. Relevant Bible study
3. Accountability
4. Shared prayer
5. Mutual caring
